Archilestes grandis (Great Spreadwing)
Length 2-2.4 inches. The mature male Great Spreadwing is entirely dark except for diagonal yellow stripes on the side of the thorax. Its eyes and face are blue.

The thorax is dark on top with large diagonal yellow stripe on the side.

There are faint green stripes above and below the yellow diagonal stripe.

The eyes and face are blue.

The abdomen is all dark with a light tip.
